Questions from lovers and haters
A plastic bag does half the job well: it slides your foot or hand through a wetsuit easily. The problem is the other half — getting it back out. Once your foot is through, a bunch of loose plastic is left inside the suit, and pulling it out is what tears it, because a regular bag has no reinforced point to grip and pull from. BingBag stays just as thin as a regular bag on purpose — thinner plastic is what glides easily — but it's reinforced by a double adhesive tape running through it like a spine, with a tip at each end (A and B) made exactly for gripping. Pull by the tips of the tape, to adjust or pull it off — never by the plastic body — and it comes out clean instead of tearing. That's what makes it reusable instead of single-use.
We care about the environment, and BingBag exists for a reason bigger than convenience: wetsuits today are more comfortable than ever, but that comfort comes with more fragile materials. Wetsuits are also genuinely harmful to produce, so anything that extends their life — instead of retiring them for a new one sooner — matters. How many disposable bags have you gone through just putting your wetsuit on? And what happened to the last one — did it end up soaked inside your wetbag, then straight in the trash? A soaked disposable bag rarely dries out enough to use again. BingBag can be rinsed and dried, ready to go for the next session.
BingBag is made of recycled plastic, and each one replaces dozens of disposable bags that would otherwise be used once and thrown away. We had real doubts about using plastic at all before launching — but no other material slides into a wetsuit as well as plastic does, so we'll let you draw your own conclusions on that trade-off. What we can control is everything else: minimal packaging, and orders shipped as regular post inside an envelope, keeping the carbon footprint of each shipment low.
Hold BingBag by its upper tip and slide your foot or hand inside, centered so your sole or palm faces the tape. Gently pull the upper tip to a snug fit — this keeps it from blowing away on a windy day, and you can fold in any excess material to match your size. Slide your "BingBagged" foot or hand into the wetsuit as normal. Once your heel or wrist has passed all the way through, grab the lower tip and pull it off. Always pull by the tips of the tape, never by the plastic body — it's thin and can tear if handled the wrong way.
As your foot pushes through the wetsuit, air escapes through the hole, letting BingBag sit tighter against your foot and reducing friction. It's also how water drains out when you rinse it, and the extra airflow helps it dry faster, so it's ready to reuse sooner.
BingBag is adjustable, so it comes in two sizes mainly for convenience. Regular fits most adult foot sizes and can also be used on hands or smaller feet — just fold the excess material into the BingBag itself, down to your wrist or ankle. Small is better suited for kids, teens, and smaller feet.
Recycled plastic and waterproof tape, handcrafted in small batches in Portugal. Small wrinkles, grains, or minor imperfections in the recycled plastic are normal and don't affect performance.
Rinse in cool water if it gets wet or dirty, and hang to dry in the shade by the upper tip. Avoid long sun or heat exposure, and watch out for sharp nails, which can damage it. Don't squeeze or press hard on the body of BingBag — it's thin by design and can warp or tear if handled roughly. It's normal for it to look a bit wrinkly after use; that doesn't affect function.
