BingBag was born from a familiar solution to a very real problem.

For decades, surfers, divers, windsurfers, and other water sports enthusiasts have used plastic bags to help put on wetsuits. The smooth, malleable surface of plastic allows feet and hands to slide more easily into the suit, reducing friction between skin and neoprene. It works—and it makes a noticeable difference.

But plastic bags were never designed for this.

They tear easily, get stuck inside the wetsuit, or become soaked and unusable after a few sessions. In the end, they are always discarded—ripped, wet, and often lost to the environment.

My own experience with this started years ago, after moving to Portugal. I began cutting plastic bags into more anatomical shapes to better fit my feet. It helped, but only temporarily. They would still tear, wear out, or become waterlogged if left with a wet wetsuit.

After years of going through countless disposable bags—and spending 7 years working as a surf instructor, seeing the same struggle shared by my students—I decided to create a better solution.

Something simple, functional, and built specifically for this purpose.

BingBag is, in essence, a bag that isn’t a bag.

Designed with a funnel shape, reinforced structure, and no seams in high-friction areas, it allows for a smoother and more controlled way to put on a wetsuit. It can be adjusted to different foot and hand sizes, reused over time, and easily cleaned after use.

Before bringing it to life, I developed multiple prototypes at home, testing different materials. In the end, nothing performed quite like plastic—but used differently, with intention and durability in mind.

Today, BingBag is produced in small batches in Portugal using recycled plastic and waterproof vinyl tape. We believe plastic, when used consciously and responsibly, is not the problem—single-use culture is.

BingBag exists to make a small but meaningful part of the wetsuit experience easier, while promoting a more thoughtful way to use materials.
